Take a Glance at Natasha

If you haven't been over to Glance lately, I suggest you make your move. Natasha is one of the latest stunners to be released from the creative mind of Joakim Asbrink.

Natasha is based on and inspired by the gorgeous Russian supermodel, Natasha Poly. This exciting skin comes in 15 makeups which are inspired directly from the runways of Versace, Gucci, Valentino, and more.

I really like the soft, shimmery skin that Natasha has. The highlights are splendid, and I can't find even a hint of a seam anywhere. The bellybutton is very cute, and the nipples are near perfect. The hands and feet are simple, while the knees and elbows are subtle and well placed.

There are 15 makeups in total with lots of different colors and styles. This picture here features makeups 1 - 5. You can see the variety of matte and glossy lips.

In this photo, I am showing makeups 6-10. This set contains a couple of dark eye makeups. The shadowing and blending of the eyeshadows really is spectacular.

This is the last picture, which has makeups 12-15. Those candy red, glossy lips on number 13 are just to die for! I love how you get so many choices with this makeup. From a simple nude look, to a colorful glow, to a dramatic smokey look, all women are covered in this beautiful skin.

Last day of sale at Nyte and Day!

Hey everyone! Today is the last day of the huge sale at Nyte and Day. Discounts from 25-50% are being offered on the older merchandise, and some items will be discontinued forever! I had to go over there and snatch a few mut haves of my own, so I'd like to share.

I really love the retro style of this Bloom Redey sweater. The bell sleeves fit very nice, and the top is available in many other colors. The Stitch Jeans in Battery Acid made not only a nice compliment to the sweater, but my shape as well!

This Sat Night V-Neck in dark blue is an exquisite piece that can be worn with or without the empire belt. Dress it up with a skirt and jewels, or go casual with jeans and flats.

Here we have the Spun Lacey Tank in Olive. This sexy little number comes with either white or black lace, and is a real head turner.

Now I will show you a cute mini-sweater dress, Lijn, in Grey. This warm and snuggly garment is perfect for the cooling fall weather. I hope it's not gone before you get on over to Nyte and Day!

A-Bomb is THE bomb!

I came across these shoes in the A-Bomb booth at the Shoe Fair...of course my computer had to go and take a dump so I am a little late with this post! I think you'll enjoy none the less!

Here we have the Amy Wedge. This cute little shoe features a bow with a tiny skull nestled in. The shoe is fully interactive so you can change the color and even the pattern. The bow can be colored separately from the shoe.

Next up is the Ingrid Ankle Boot. This hot little number is also color change, and there's a nice variety of colors to chose from.

This shoe here is called Jane. The classic stiletto is fully color change with just one click of the shoe.

Khitten is a nice style for those long days at the office. Nice and comfortable, and of course color changeable, you'll certainly get your money's worth!

Finally we have the Venus Boot. Made for a sex goddess, these boots are the most interactive of all. You can choose a stiletto heel, or a chunky heel, and you can also change or remove the charm. The color options are endless due to the fact that you can change each party of the boot separately. I see these as a great accessory for the upcoming Halloween holiday.

I had the extreme pleasure of wandering the Shoe Fair 2010 on the blogger preview night, and I am going to be sharing with you all my finds over the weeks to come.

R2 Fashion is the home of my first pair of shoes. "Mahealani" is the name of this stunning slingback heel. The two-toned, peep-toed pair are adorned with 2 intricate bows. One on top of the shoe, and another smaller one on the strap at the back of the heel. I chose pink & purple, but there were six other colors and also a fatpack option.

You must go and visit the shoe fair! Not only will most of your purchases be helping a great cause, soles4souls, but you can have a hoe-down time in the fascinating country style sims. You can also find lots more info on the Shoe Fair 2010 website.

It's always sad to learn that one of my favorite designers is going out of business, and unfortunately this post is a result of that. “Mix and Match” Fantasy Forest

I found myself wandering through this amazing, beautiful forest. "Mudshake...what a peculiar name!" I thought to myself.

Although the trees and flowers were reminiscent of spring time, the cool breeze that gently pushed my skirt about my knees was causing me to shiver.

"Perhaps I should have brought a jacket..." I mumbled as I clenched my fists and snuggled in to my sweater a bit more.

Ah well, the warm weather will be upon us soon enough! Might as well strike a pose, and work this cute look, no matter the temperature!

"Review" Paper Couture

What is it about Paper Couture that makes it so sought after? Is it the fact that they only release seasonally, much like RL designers? Is it the wonderfully hand drawn textures? Perhaps it's the unusual use of primwork...stationary prims mixed with movement? Or maybe it's all of the above. The most recent release of Paper Couture was January 1st. Here I will show you some of my favorites.

This first dress is called Shake It. The color is very nice, and you just have to see the movement of the skirt! It really is indescribable. The cute little feathered hat is included with the purchase. I paired it with the Grape Vine Earrings, which are sold separately.

Here we have Silver Mermaid. This gown is nice and sleek, with a gentle flair at the lower leg, hence the "mermaid" portion of the name. The sheer shrug comes in either a solid, or a fun polka dot version. This Jeweled Headband Updo is sold at Paper Couture, as well as the Geometric Crystal Chandelier Earrings and the Water Over Wine Ring.

This dress here is called the Black Floral SuitGown. A nicely fitted white jacket with black details gives way to a full, floral skirt. I thought the Long Beaded Bow Necklace complemented the dress wonderfully, and then topped off my look with The Aviator Glasses in Black, both of which you can find at Paper Couture.

My final look is the Tulle Wrapped Winter Gown. This magnificent gown is comprised of a sleek, strapless bodice which melts into a luxurious skirt crafted from fine satin and tulle. Again, this dress has a movement to it that just has to be seen! The Sparkling Spheres Set from Paper Couture is the crowning glory.

The Wages of Sin - Murder Mystery Hunt

The Wages of Sin murder mystery hunt runs from February 1 - February 28. Begin at Laveau Square in the center of New Toulouse. You'll need to find all the clues to get your reward, so be sure to get the hunt HUD there and read the instructions.

Each hunt clue includes a landmark to the location of the next clue - but if, instead of teleporting, you use "Show on Map" and follow the beacon, you can enjoy a nice walking tour of New Toulouse as you investigate the crime.

I got a notecard from one of the various groups I am in, and it was actually one designer advertising for another, new, designer. Well, I ended up in the store called TOSL, or Tree & Ocean SL. The owner is Quinlan Quimby, and she has some really great stuff in her store!

I noticed this sweet little dress right in the entrance called "Punk Princess". I just knew I had to have it, so I chose the Peacock color. There's also matching sculpted shoes, so I snatched those as well, in the same color. You can find 3 other colors available, of dress and shoes.

The dress comes with several sculpted pieces that fit amazingly well, and have a very sweet texture. You get the belt in 3 different sizes, and the skirt has a regular and a sit script version. There's also a bodice and chest ruffle. The clothing layers of top and undies come in shirt/undershirt and pants/underpants layers.

I thought I'd share with you all my then and now, inspired by Sophia Harlow.

Wow, first of all, my apologies for such a small photo! And the graphics...OMG what a difference in 3 years! I was obviously going for the super hoochie mama look. I think that was in my time of escorting (come on, who hasn't tried something like it in SL?!), so I was all about the boobs and such! I have no idea where the clothing and boots are from, but I do know the hair is Calla Delphinium Black, and the skin is +LD+ chai - bubblegum. Wow! LOL

Now a days, I obviously have much better graphics. (And style!) And with the introduction of windlight, and my ability to take nice pictures, this photos is much more pleasing. I am showing off some of the current fundraising items available to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake. There's a skybox in the Scribble sim where all designers are donating 100% profit of the items there. My computer was dead!

Thank goodness I am back up and running! On Tuesday, before work, I had checked my email and peeked at the fashion feeds for a few. When I got home, Tuesday evening, my computer was off. Knowing that I'd left it on, the first thing I did was check the clock on the microwave (my computer is near the kitchen) to see if there'd been some sort of power outage. Nope...the clock was still on and showing the correct time. I tried to turn on the computer, but to no avail. I checked all plugs, checked the power strip, etc. I couldn't figure out what in the world was wrong. The monitor, the internet modem, and the wireless router all had power! The mouse and keyboard, however, did not. I had a suspicion it might be the power supply, but you can never be sure unless you have all the diagnostic equipment available at your fingertips! I took it to the local computer superstore, but they wanted $69.99USD just to find out what was wrong with it! No way was I gonna pay that!

I posted a plea for help on Facebook, and luckily one of my friends replied telling me to call her fiancee, that he could help. I took it over to their house, but he found that the power supply was in fact good. The next concern was the motherboard. I allowed him to keep the computer so he could take it to work and fully check it out. Guess what he found wrong with it?! The graphics card!! For some reason the fan had stopped working on the graphics card, and it caused an early demise for the graphics card. Very interesting that a dead graphics card could cause my computer to completely shut down! So, I got a new card...a slightly better one at that, and he fixed it for me for $20!! What a nice guy! Now where can I find one of those...

"Review" LAQ - Ania & Carina

I had recently been over at LAQ drooling over the new skin Ania, when I realized I had to have it! I also realized that I had to share it with all of you as well!

This luscious skin comes with 10 make up shades, rather than the customary 8. Full, pouty lips and nice thick eyebrows are my favorite on Ania's face. As you can see, she fits rather well on my shape, but there are also shapes available at LAQ. There are quite a few variations of the make up shades. Nude lips, pink lips, and red lips...something for everyone! You also get a nice variety of eyeshadow with choices of pinks, blues, smokeys and more. In my photograph you can see Fair on the top row in the shades of 01, 04, and 06. The middle row is Peach in 02, 05, and 08. The bottom row is Nougat in 03, 06, and 09.

The body is very exquisite, which is what the Glow skins are known for. The collarbone and neck area is well defined, which I seem to enjoy in a skin. The breasts have a nice shape to them, and the belly is soft, yet strong. The lady parts are fairly simple, and the bum is hot! There's also a good detail to the knees, elbows, hands and feet. A lot of skin designers tend to look these areas over.

Now I will share with you Carina. When I first saw this skin, I knew I had to have it because Carina is the name of my RL daughter! She is 4, and her name is not that common. There's also a few other spellings out there, so it was real sweet to see it exact! Again, Carina fits well on my normal shape. You get the same nice variety of make ups, but this one comes in 8 different styles. On the top row I have Fair in 03, 04, and 06. The middle row is Peach in 02, 05, and 07. On the bottom row, there's Nougat in 01, and 08.

I think the body is the same mapping as Ania, and you get all of the skins in 2 styles with each make up - hairbase or not. I really enjoy the hairbase style because I think it helps some of the wigs out in SL look more realistic when you can see a bit of the hairbase. As I cammed over the skin, I noticed something very neat about these Glow skins...there's just a faint hint of blue veins throughout the body! On the hands, inside the arms, even on the breasts!! I thought this was a very interesting touch to the skin.

Both of these skins are available now at LAQ for L$1990 per color pack (fair, peach, nougat, etc). There is also a 50% off sale on selected past skin releases. Hurry and get over there before the sale ends!

The final look in this outstanding collection is called 12 Drummers Drumming Dress. This sexy little number is made from a fine velvet in red, black, and gold. Each side of the dress is laced with six golden strings which add up to 12 heart stopping accents.

Topping it off is the miniature drum headpiece, and matching shoes are included.

I have missed a few days, due to the holidays, of course...here it is the day after xmas, and I am only on day 10! Eeekk! Today's look is the 10 Lords 'a Leaping Gown. A skirt of rich, dark, purple, chiffon exudes from the waistline of the lace edged strapless bodice.

Looking closely at the strapless bodice of this enchanting gown, you can see the lords a leaping in the cool tones of purple, blue, and green. The last touch is a fluffy boa perched on the right shoulder. Matching shoes included.

Nine Ladies Dancing, Eight Maids a Milking, Seven Swans a Swimming, Six Geese a Laying, Five Golden Rings! Four Calling Birds, Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

A halter style bodice with a sexy keyhole opening makes up just one sexy feature of this deep red, satin gown. Gorgeous red roses flow over the bodice which gives way to a long, rose trimmed skirt. An appealing slit runs up the right side of the skirt, and you can see the matching shoes which are included.

Today I have the sixth dress in this amazing 12 item holiday collection from Moxie Polano of Moxie Polanos Haute Styles. 6 Geese a Laying is a one shouldered cocktail length dress. This amazing design is a feathered fantasy! A simple black bow rests just beneath the breasts while a cascade of feathers covers the skirt. A feathered collar, which matches the gloves, dances about the top hem of the bodice.

The grand finale is the ravishing hat which is filled with 6 geese a laying! There's one large goose on top of the hat, silently protecting the eggs. Along the back brim, you can find five more geese lounging about.

This one is another scrupulous mermaid style gown made of black satin and gold ribbon. The tight, fitted bodice can be worn strapless or halter style, and is wrapped 5 times with the ribbon.

Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree!

So, today's look is called Three French Hens. Strapless, short, and sassy defines this dress! An intricate lace design decorates the top hem of the dress, and runs down the low cut back. Red roses (to signify the hens), feathers, and lace grace the hips, and also enrich the amazing headpiece. Sheer, white stocking included.

Here you can see the gorgeous roses wrapped around the hips and finishing in the back with a single rose and an explosion of feathers and lace.

On the headpiece, you'll find more roses, feathers, and lace. Deep reds and silvery whites are the colors that make up this unique item.

Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

A pair of appliqued turtle doves rest on the bodice of this one shouldered dress. A dainty, paisley lace, which is reminiscent of the turtle doves, flows gently over the cocktail length skirt. An adornment of ribbon and feathers rests on the shoulder, and the dress come with sheer, black stockings.

Here you can see the amazing detail with which the Turtle Doves were created. The prim adornment on the shoulder has such unique movement. Moxie's ability to get the perfect movement on her prims never fails to amaze me!

A Partridge in a Pear Tree! And in this case, my true love is Moxie Polano! Now, I know I have blogged about her twice already since the recent start of my blog, but it has not been intentional! The first time, I had won that amazing Candy Cane gown from her lucky chair, and I had to share that! Then I did a blog on this sweet, icy winter skin I got as a group gift, and one of her gowns just happened to go with it so nicely.

I am going to share with you all Moxie's 12 days of Christmas Holiday Collection. Of course, on the first day, you have a Partridge in a Pear Tree. And what you have here, is, well, just that!!

What you are seeing is a spectacular mermaid style gown crafted of fine satin and chiffon featuring a unique pear branch collar with a sweet Partridge perched on the shoulder, and a matching head-piece.

Upon closer inspection, you can see the amazing prim work she has intricately designed making this dress a true one of a kind. From the quirky Partridge, to the pears with their slight glow, the time spent creating this is unimaginable.

Aleida Rhode is proud to announce an amazing new skin crafted in the likeness of the well known American model Devon Aoki. The pouty lips and the splattering of freckles are the calling for this sweet skin she has named "Miss Aoki".

Here you can see a comparison picture of the SL model, and the RL model. Not bad if I do say so myself! I am wearing the Nude skin for this picture.

As you can see in this full body shot of the Nude make-up, the body is nice and soft. Not too much harsh shading that you can find with some other skins. With each skin purchase, you get a with cleavage and without cleavage version. The shape is also included in the single skins as well as the fat pack.

In this first picture, I am showing you the skin tones of Nude, Emerald, Catwalk, and Bronze in the version without cleavage. I really enjoy the different make-up options included in the fat pack. A nice variety!

For this shot I chose to wear Smokey, Red, Orange, and Pink in the cleavage version. They are all so pretty! You can get a single skin in both with or without cleavage versions, plus the modifiable shape for just L$898. The fat pack, which consists of 8 different make ups in the 2 versions, and the modifiable Miss Aoki shape is only L$3998.

"Seasonal" Icy Goddess

‘Tis the season! I was playing around with this sweet skin I got from Ugly Duck as a group gift. I told you I’d have more ideas! SO, I think I’ll be throwing in a “Seasonal” piece every now and then. We all know how fun it is to find amazing seasonal items to play with in SL.

I am always checking out the SL fashion feed blogs, and I am currently waiting to get syndicated on some of them. At any rate, I saw someone in this skin, and they mentioned it was a group gift, so I had to mosey on over and get it for myself! I was typing in winter related words into the search bar of my inventory, and the Winter White Snowflake Gown by Moxie Polano popped up. I knew it’d go great with this skin! I have to say, Moxie is one of my favorite designers. I really love the movement in this dress, the way the skirt just cascades in such a soft, flowing manner.

The jewelry is the limited edition JennaRicci from JCNY. Only a handful of these were even created, and I was lucky enough to get one. Who knows, there may still be some available! Or perhaps some new design from the amazing, creative mind of JD Hansen. I had to go with ETD’s Aiiyanna in White. I feel like such a snowy goddess!

For the second time this week, I have to show you guys the FREE Snowflakes on my Lashes from WWI. You have to get over there now for the Peace on Earth grid wide hunt and get them! SO cute, and did I mention FREE? Just look for the small earth-like blue globe with a dove on it!

"Review" Maitreya

Back over the summer, there was an exciting event for fashion bloggers, it was Blogger Appreciation Week. We were all offered a completely STUPID amount of gifts...so many that I could barely keep track of them all!

One of my potential goals upon my recent return to SL was to organize my inventory (yeah right...), and I think we all know how that tends to go! At any rate, I found a $2500L gift card from Blogger Appreciation Week from Maitreya! Considering it had been so long since that time, I didn't really think it'd be honored for me. I IM'd Onyx LeShelle, the owner and creator of Maitreya, and she happily told me she'd accept it! Yipee! I went from hoping to slim down my inventory, to promptly beefing it up!

There's definately a lot to choose from at Maitreya. Hair, shoes, clothing, and poses. I don't own much clothing from Maitreya, so that is what I chose for my gift card. I also picked out a pair of the Maitreya Gold line of shoes, which I hadn't seen since my departure from SL.

I really loved the HighSkirt as soon as I saw it. Very classy, and I can see it easily being dressed down for the office, or dressed up for any special occasion. There are several color options to choose from, but I went with Valentino.

Upon wandering the store, I noticed the Savoir Turtleneck Top and instantly knew it'd go great with the skirt. I chose the Lavender, finding it to be a nice color combination with the skirt. I still needed one more accessory to go with, so I stopped by the scarf table. The Long Scarf in Plum was just what I needed. This is no ordinary scarf however, it has multiple settings so you can wear it in several different stationary poses, or you can have it in a flexi option, which I prefer best.

I left the clothing area and found myself drooling in the Maitreya Gold building. Gorgeous designs with prim toes were abounding! Seeing as these style of shoes are all the rage these days in SL, I had to try a pair out. I chose the Shanti in Grape, to match my prior purple-ness. The shoes come with a HUD to attach, and that is where you can do all of the color adjustments. I found it very easy to match to my skin, as Onyx has included a popular list of skins that she has already matched. Luckily, my Laqroki skin was on the list!

Nothing on my head is included in the Maitreya review, but I had to show you these adorable snowflake lashes! They are free at Worldwide Industries in the POE Grid Wide hunt! You should definitly go and get them.

"Lucky Chair" Moxie Polanos

Aahh... Moxie Polanos. If you have not been there, you must go now! Moxie specializes in gorgeous masquerade style gowns, but she also has adorable casual wear, and some business style outfits. One of the things I love most about her store is the LUCKY CHAIR! She always has seriously fab items in it! It is kind of a bitch getting a good letter drawn, however. It likes to put out X's and Q's and Z's, but the wait is well worth it as you are about to see!

Right now, there are several amazing holiday outfits in the chair. You can also score these hot little Christmas boots, which she calls the Berry Red Holly Boots.

I was lucky enough to wait around for just the right amount of time to get the top prize, this gorgeous holiday dress, the Candy Cane Gown. The detailing she puts into her clothing is just spectacular. From the dainty scarf carefully tied around the neck, the laced up back, to the gorgeous lace hem, no detail is missed.

I just adore the intricate snowflakes that grace the top of the skirt. You can see them well in this picture which also shows the sexy back of the dress.

Along the right side of the gown is a lovely bow which gives way to a cascade of red and white fabric. It nicely matches the strapless bodice, while the long, red gloves compliment the skirt.

"Old and New" LeLutka

I had been seeing these gorgeous pants all over the Fashion Feed of SL. They are the new Rockin' Pants from Lelutka. I couldn't help myself, I had to get them! As I wandered around the sim, I found myself in the outlet section, and the Aramada dress instantly caught my eye as the perfect edgy addition to these pants. I am not wearing the whole dress, just the top of it, no way could I cover up any of the gorgeousness of these Rockin' Pants, and they sure are rockin'!

So, for my first "Old and New" I have the unique Armada dress as the Old, and the awesome Rockin' Pants for the New!

Welcome to my very first post in my very first SL blog!

Hello, my name is Rhi, and I'm an SL-aholic. The first step to recovery is admission, right?! Haha Anyone who has ever been in SL knows that's not the case for this addiction.

I have recently returned to SL after a bit of a break. It was actually my second break. Apparently I just can’t stay away! I really love the creativity I can express here. I also immensely enjoy the creativity of others. Fashion, art, landscaping, architecture, and so much more. There is always something new to discover in SL.

I hope to be able to share with you all a diverse collection of the many things you can find in SL. I do not have any specific plans for the art or scenery that can be found in SL. I’ll just be adding that in randomly when I can.

One of the things I enjoy the most about SL is the ability to play “dress up” with my doll (my avatar). I am planning to have for you all a few different fashion features.

“Old and New” will be some looks from one designer chosen from older items that I already in have in my inventory, or past designs newly purchased, along with fresh new items from the same designer.

“Vintage” will feature items that are no longer available in SL. I know it won’t be fun for you, my reader, to see something you completely love, only to find that it isn’t available any longer. I promise there will be lots of things available that you can definitely make a part of your own inventory!

“Mix and Match” will be a look paired up from 3 or more designers. It may be all new stuff, or could be old and new, or might even include vintage items. You’ll have to keep posted to find out!

“Fashion Review” will of course be a… fashion review! In the past, I have been given samples from various designers for review. If I happen to get something like that now-a-days that I feel would be of benefit to you, I shall happily share!

“Lucky Chair” is just that, a post about some great thing I have gotten from a lucky chair!

As time goes on, I am sure I will have lots more brilliant ideas for you! I hope you enjoy the time you spend with me on my blog. I look forward to knowing that other fashion lovers may get some satisfaction from my creativity.
